The Portage Lakes are a series of reservoirs  just south of Akron, Ohio, started in 1825 and formed to be supply water for the Ohio Canal. They consist of 1,681 acres of fishing water with 37.84 miles of shoreline and approximately 2,000 homes. They are used extensively by residents and the general public for every kind of water based activity imaginable. As pictured, the mute swans add beauty and joy to the whole area.
