OVERVIEW

We are residents of Portage Lakes who have watched and fallen in love with our mute swans over the  years. We have been delighted when, through much patience, the swans have trusted us enough to allow hand feeding. Upon hearing their wings hit the water with a whomp, whomp, whomp, we have run to the window and been thrilled to watch as they tried to get those big, beautiful bodies airborn.

In 2012, we were delighted to see six  newly born cygnets on West Reservoir, the first in about five years. We were devastated in 2013 to find them and their parents missing, and fear the worst. We decided to work together with anyone interested to try to stop this needless slaughter.
